Our unique Tongue Tite® Wood Flooring Screws are designed to make installing your new flooring as easy as possible and are particularly DIY friendly. Each pack includes 200 screws to cover upto 10m2 of flooring and a matching drill bit to fit the head of the screw.

All that is needed to perform this cost effective installation method is an electric screwdriver or drill powertool !

Tongue Tite® Wood Flooring Screws can be used to fix solid wood and engineered wood floors as well as bamboo flooring to a wooden/chipboard subfloor. Due to their unique design they will not come loose when walked on which prevents any annoying squeeking sometimes found with nails. Strong and tough these screws will not break during seasonal movements of wood flooring.

Each screw is 45mm in length and has a narrow countersunk head so it does not prevent the next board being placed, therefore hiding the screws from sight. Screws should be placed at at 30-45 degrees angle to the exposed side of the tongue, where the tongue and rise meet. As you can see from the image this means no screws can be seen once installation is finished and it does not harm the surface of your new flooring.

Due to the angle that it inserts the board the screw actually drives around 27mm. Most of which is taken by the thickness of your flooring leaving the rest to safely drive into the substrate to get a secure a strong grab.

How To Use Our Tongue Tite® Wood Flooring Screws ?

We recommend that you insert the Tongue Tite® Wood Flooring Screw at an angle of 30-45 degress to the exposed face on the tongue side, and being where the tonge meets the rise. This will drive the screw through the board and out into the substrate.
Make sure the head of the screw sit beneath the tongue so it does not interefe with the next board to be placed.
For a secure fix we advise that you insert your screw every 300mm. (Please Note : if you are placing a screw within 50mm of the end of the board we recommend pre-drilling the hole to avoid splitting.)

One of the boxes was split and a few screw were lost - but what can you say about a box of screws

I used tongue Tite screws to fix solid oak flooring to chipboard subfloor. I found it useful to pre-drill holes to prevent the screw from splitting the tongue occasionally. The supplied bit was useful but I definitely needed more than one per box of 200 screws (I'd say 3 would be good). The screws did the job and I'd recommend them.

worked well if you let the screw go in at its own speed i.e. don't push it too hard. Otherwise the wood tonue is more likely to split out. After 2 boxes both the Torx bits were worn out

Slower to fit than hidden nails/brads (which we used for our downstairs installation) but enables a far better finish when tackling slightly uneven floors or inconsistent board widths.

Unique little screws for fixing down my solid oak floor. I wanted to allow for possible (distant) future recycling of my floor so thought these screws offered the best chance of being able to lift it all again if that were ever needed.

I used these screws on engineered flooring. They were quicker than using a floor nailer. I found it possible to place the screws within 10mm of the end of a piece of flooring, without a pilot hole and it did not cause the wood to split.

Excellent product. Worked perfectly for our project to lay 60m2 of 22mm solid oak flooring. The only slight issue I had was that the supplied torx bit wore out quite quickly but that was easily overcome by getting some diamond Wera bits which lasted much longer.
