Installing Click System Cork Flooring
Our Cork floors are very easy to install thanks to the integrated uniclic system. This floor is suitable for use in all rooms (except wet rooms) and is suitable for use over any type of subfloor including underfloor heating.
Click System Floating Installation.
Click System Floating Installation is the most common and DIY friendly installation method because it is the easiest and the fastest to do, can be installed over any type of subfloor and it does not require any special skills or prior experience in installing floors as the floors just clicks together with no need for any glue.
All flooring installations must use an approved underlay. Over a concrete subfloor you will need to use and underlay which has a built in damp proof membrane like Barrier Plus, while over a wooden subfloor you can use the standard Barrier underlay. For installations over underfloor heating we recommend using Tuplex underlay.
Each board has a click profile on all four sides to join the boards together simply insert the tongue into the groove at a high angle and then push them down. The boards will then click together.
To allow for any movement of the floor you will need to leave a 10mm expansion gap around the perimeter of the room. To maintain this gap during installation spacers are provided in the installation kits (purchased seperately). After you have installed the floor you can cover this expansion gap with scotia / beading or new skirting boards. The 10mm expansion gap also needs to be left in doorways where the floor follows through from one room to another; we have a full range of door profiles available to match your floor..
The above is a brief guideline on the installation of click system Cork flooring, always refer to the manufactures installation guidelines contained within packs of floor. View Manufactures Installation Guides.

Cork Flooring Maintenance
Cork Flooring is extremely hygienic and easy to keep clean. Here are our recommendations to keep your Cork Flooring looking beautiful for many years.
Routine cleaning requires just vacuuming, dusting with a clean, dry cloth, or a damp mop to prevent loose dirt or grit from scratching your floor's finish. Use non-staining walk-off mats by the entrance of all outside doorways. Use a damp mop to remove footmarks and most stubborn dirt. Always be sure that your mop has been thoroughly wrung out. Never wet mop, or use excessive amounts of water on your Cork floor. Never use scouring substances, abrasive cleaners, paste waxes or any floor polishes on your Cork Floor. Marks and stubborn stains can easily be removed with Acetone nail polish remover or other mild solvents containing alchohol. Felt pads should be affixed to the base of all furniture legs and drip trays should be placed underneath any planted pots. Movable furniture should be fitted with wide, rubber rollers. The use of "soap-free" cleaners on a regular basis is all you need to do to keep your floor looking beautiful for many years. Hardened glue left over after your floor is installed can be removed with Acetone nail polish remover or special glue solvents.IMPORTANT TIPS
Use any non-abrasive, soap-free cleaner on a regular basis. (NEVER USE: Abrasive pads and cleaners, including nylon scouring pads, steel wool, Comet, Soft Scrub, etc., which may damage the finish.) Footprints and dirt easily wipe away with a moist cloth. Just wring cloth well before use. It is recommended to remove any wet spills immediately to avoid liquid penetration into the seams. Use caution when moving large appliances such as refrigerator, ranges, etc. Use protective mats at exterior entrances and in heavy traffic areas. Always remove loose dirt by sweeping. Mop using a rinse free or non-sudsy ammonia mixed with water according to the ammonia's instructions for normal cleaning. Use only a slightly damp mop. Gaps may occur at joints in the flooring during periods of low relative humidity (especially during the heating season). Don't use "mop-and-shine" products. They'll leave a dull film. Never wax or polish your floor. We recommend that you purchase one of our Maintenance Kits.
