Merbau Engineered Wood Flooring

Merbau wood is an inviting choice for wood flooring because of its rich reddish-brown coloring and durability. Not many people realize they can get the same look of merbau solid wood flooring at a much lower price if they opt for inexpensive engineered flooring. In fact, merbau engineered wood flooring is manufactured with an outer layer of real merbau wood; the remaining layers are comprised of other woods, plywood or High Density Fibreboard (HDF).

No matter its quality, engineered flooring is often not considered when plans are made to install new floor coverings because many believe it will not hold up to the same wear and tear as solid wood floors. There is concern that engineered flooring is not completely natural and contains many artificial chemicals that might later lead to environmental or health problems. This is not the case with merbau engineered wood flooring. It is real wood throughout, although merbau wood makes up only the outer layer of the floorboards. The discounted pricing reflects not a lower quality product or artificial materials, but rather an ulterior to solid Merbau wood flooring.

Merbau engineered wood flooring also offers the same versatility when it comes to decor. The brown color goes well with just about any wall color, so there is no need to worry about having a limit in painting options if merbau engineered wood flooring is installed.
