Oiled Engineered Wood Flooring
Compare engineered flooring to lacquer engineered wood flooring and it might seem at first that oiled engineered wood floors require more effort to maintain. Yet while it is true that oil has to be reapplied to oiled wood floors on a consistent basis, the work does not usually require a re-oiling of the entire floor. Only the spots where the oil has rubbed off or grown thin have to be re-oiled.
Oiled engineered wood flooring offers several benefits over lacquered engineered floors. Lacquer sits on top of the wood, but oil penetrates the wood's pores, strengthening all the layers in an engineered wood floor. Many people also believe that an oiled engineered wood floor looks more natural than a lacquer engineered floor, and that is why they choose to lay the oiled planks themselves or hire someone else to perform a custom engineered flooring installation. These are just two of the many reasons why customers should give the benefit of a second glance to oiled engineered wood flooring.
