Oiled Solid Wood Flooring

Perhaps the greatest benefit of oiled solid wood flooring is that an oiled floor is a comparatively inexpensive wood flooring option when refurbishing costs are considered. Refinishing a synthetically sealed solid wood floor requires sanding to remove the topcoat of lacquer, and this sanding always takes with it some of the wood. A wooden floor can only be resanded a limited number of times before it has to be replaced. On the other hand, oiled solid wood flooring does not have to be sanded entirely to repair dings and scratches in the finish, ultimately saving the purchaser a great deal of money in refinishing and replacement costs.

Oiled solid wood flooring also tends to look more natural than its artificially lacquered counterpart, which is especially evident when wood flooring samples are compared. It should be clear then that those who do not mind a little bit of extra work will definitely find oiled solid wood flooring to be the best budget and decor choice in the long run.
