Unfinished Solid Wood Flooring

Unfinished solid wood flooring products have not yet been finished with a stain or lacquer, although they have been pretreated to receive these outer coats once the flooring has been installed. Homeowners can lay the unfinished planks on their own or hire a professional to perform a hardwood flooring custom installation. This allows the homeowner to live for a while with the flooring and consider what color might go well with the rest of the decor. Once the homeowner has a better sense of the coloring that will complement the walls and furniture in the room, the stain and lacquer can be chosen and applied to the unfinished flooring. An unfinished floor also allows people to stain the wood the color they want even when they cannot find it pre-applied.
