City Metropolitan European Ash 130mm Lacquered Engineered Flooring is 130mm wide, has a total thickness of 14mm and comes in standard lengths of 2200mm.

This is a 3 ply engineered floor so it is made from 3 different layers, one being the hardwood wear layer with the other 2 being constructed from spruce.

The floor has a 2.5mm hardwood layer which if need can be sanded and re-finished up to 3 times, but under a normal maintenance program and in a domestic environment the floor should not need to be sanded for around 20 years.

Each of the planks has bevelled edges (V Grooves) on all four sides resulting in very distinctive groove between the planks, adding more depth and dimension along with giving an individual definition to each plank.

The floor is prefinished with a very durable satin lacquer which leaves the floor with an even sheen that gently reflects the light. The lacquer also gives great protection to the hardwood itself and allows for easier cleaning and maintenance.

The family grade of this hardwood shows the true excellent appearance of the wood, the pattern of the rings beautifully depicts the annual growth of the tree and while small knots, limited character marks are allowed there is little or no sapwood, mineral streaks or splits.

First impression wasn't good but after laying looks good. It's a decent floor however some boards are really ugly.

Family grade, laquered, engineered flooring in ash. Great colour that goes well with ash and waxed pine. Great quality with no knots to snag bottom shufflers.

The product looks great, but we have not installed it yet so I would hold off giving it 5 stars until it had been fitted.

Lovely grain patterns. Would have preferred 180mm boards but I guess that's a limitation that ash imposes.

The flooring has gone down in our lounge and kitchen, running throughout.\nI would recommend this product to anyone wanting a more unique looking floor, a bit more different and quirky with its different grain look.\n

looks good - still reviewing colours

Date added: Saturday 1st September, 2012
The flooring we bought was for our kitchen through to dinning room and round the perimeter of our lounge, it is a big L shaped open plan room. The flooring looks as if it will be easy to lay but we haven't got that far yet. The quality of the product looks great and the colours are amazing, we have solid ash stairs and it matches perfectly.

Date added: Friday 17th August, 2012
Looks great in our lounge, and the bevelled edges really add that extra touch. The product was very good quality with no wastage due to poor quality control.

Good quality product by Polish manufacturer Barlinek.\nIdeal for upstairs as floating floor

Date added: Saturday 2nd June, 2012
A bit soft, sample scratched quite easily, not sure it would take impavt of stileto heels.(sample only tried)

Date added: Saturday 2nd June, 2012
There were some ugly strips with a dark smudge like staining

Date added: Wednesday 16th May, 2012
sample itself was good quality, however not the right choice for our bungalow.

Date added: Tuesday 1st May, 2012

used the product throughout the ground floor. was excellent both in colour and grain. would recommend and use again. good service and delivery. really happy|

Date added: Monday 24th October, 2011
very good

Date added: Monday 17th October, 2011
Very nice product and much more interesting than oak as there is a great deal of variation in grain and colour. Easily installed as the product is a click system, however, some 'gentle pursuasion' was required at times. The acoustic gold underlay is worth the extra couple of quid and works well of timber of concrete floors.

Date added: Sunday 11th September, 2011
Excellent colour, but the hardwood layer a bit thin.

Date added: Friday 9th September, 2011
this is the floor that we will go with for the whole of our ground floor. great grain and colour.

Date added: Monday 5th September, 2011
Beautiful, distinctive colours and tones, looks way more expensive than it cost. All our friends are very impressed. And with it being 'click system' it was a dream to install...fantastic with our under floor heating system, very toasty.

Date added: Thursday 1st September, 2011
Thick and with softwood core would be concerned over impact damage but thickness of ash surface will be very useful for maintenance.

Date added: Wednesday 3rd August, 2011
Very clear ash. Good quality for an engineered wood flooring.

Date added: Tuesday 2nd August, 2011
wooden flooring - the samle is diff colour then the product delivered - not great again...

Date added: Thursday 21st July, 2011
not the look I want but good quality\nwould love it in lime wash

Date added: Friday 8th July, 2011
perfect match for our hall and engineered flooring too so ideal to use with our under floor heating

Date added: Wednesday 6th July, 2011
This is the best match to use with our stairs. Would you liked it slightly thicker. Particularly like the bevelled edge

Date added: Sunday 3rd July, 2011

Date added: Tuesday 12th April, 2011
Excellent quality, absolutely everyone who sees my floor wants it. My place is small but the light colors and the stripes in the wood make it seem a lot better. Excellent choice and easy to install.
