Engineered hallway flooring

December 9th, 2011

Q: Is engineering wooden floor good for hallway? Do high heels damage it? Can it be mopped?

A: An engineered wood floor is an excellent choice for a hallway.Engineered flooring is far more suitable due to the fact that it can cope with a larger range of temperature and humidity fluctuations compared to hardwood flooring alone. This is down to how the board is manufactured, with multiple layers running at 90 degrees to the next. This construction gives the wood a very stable core that will resist changes in the atmosphere.High heels can damage it, the same as they would with most other flooring materials, if steps to protect the floor or maintain the shoes are not taken.Any source of wet mopping is not advised, but you can wipe over with a well wrung cloth. As always, be sure surface moisture is removed thoroughly.
