Installing a hardwood floor

January 11th, 2012

Q: I have a solid concrete floor and wish to install solid oak flooring on top. I would prefer to avoid glueing the wood planks down. Can you offer advice on any alternative method? I was considering fixing battons down to nail the boards to or are there any underlays?

A: There are several different options available when you are installing your hardwood floor.Gluing or screwing are the traditional methods which are recommended from many sources but UK Flooring Direct can offer you a new alternative in a product called Fast Fit Peel and Stick, which can be found by searching the website for the code ACC-UN-FF-032.This is an underlay which has been developed to allow you to fit your new floor without any extra products or work.
