Q: I have had a solid floor laid in dining room which is through room to lounge with carpet what do you suggest as trim from wood to carpet as wood floor boards are quite thick.

A: There are one of two ways to finish your two floorings to make a lovely transition possible. The first is a "Ramp" profile the second is an "End" profile. The ramp will need to be cut down to create a flat profile at the front downward sloping edge. The end profile on the other hand can just be finished up to straight away.
