Wood you believe it?

Q: We are about to move into a new home and love the idea of wood effect flooring. But it is quite costly and we are wondering about the alternatives?
A: Both vinyl and laminate can come in wood effect types and while they will not quite possess the natural warmth and sheen of real wood, it does help create the same visual appearance.Vinyl is among the cheapest of floors and it does offer useful qualities of its own - such as being waterproof and stain proof, unlike wood - and can be cushioned, making it much softer. Laminate flooring also has plenty going for it, as it - like vinyl - is harder to scratch than real wood and much easier to clean.Like wood, both vinyl and laminate have a long life, so you will get value for money whatever material you choose. As with anything that involves a budget, there may be some compromise involved. But wood effect vinyl or laminate could end up giving you just the ambience you want from your floor.
