Different Finishes
Satin Lacquer
The applied finish to the hardwood is a Satin Lacquer which is durable and easy to clean and leaves the floor with an even sheet that gently reflects the light.
Matt Lacquer
The final finish is a Matt lacquer allowing the wood to appear very natural and virtually invisible. It is visually similar to oiled floors but with an easier maintenance programme.
Oiled
Modern production methods allow the wood to be fully prefinished with natural oils. This seemingly transparent surface allows the natural beauty of the wood to show, whilst deeply protecting the wood. The final floor will need occasional maintenance.
Brushed
Before applying the finish, the surface is roller brushed to remove some of the softer summer growth rings from the grain. this gives an naturally textured surface that gently highlights the natural grain structure.
Hand Distressed
Before applying the finish the floor is placed through a machine which scrapes away at the surface of the floor. Their is usually a stain then applied which with the uneveness of the finish produces a distressed and aged look to the floor.
Unfinished
This is when the floor has just been sanded on the surface ready for the installers to finish the floor how the customer wishes. With the use of different colour stains and oils this allows you to really create a bespoke floor.
