3 Strip

This board contains three individual strips of flooring on the width of each board. Each strip is usually around 550mm in length and gives the floor a random appearance. Three strip flooring in engineered floors are often a cheaper alternative to full plank floors without having to compromise on quality as it is easier for the manufacture to source the smaller strips of hardwood from the raw material.

2 Strip or Double Plank

Two strip boards contain two individual strips of flooring on the width. The strips are usually around 550mm in length and give the floor a more elegant look than a three strip flooring does. Two strip flooring in engineered & solid wood floors are often a cheaper alternative to full plank floors without having to compromise on quality as it is easier for the manufacture to source the smaller strips of hardwood from the raw material.

1 Strip or Plank

Plank floors have one complete strip of wood on the surface. This gives the floor a stunning appearance as the full beauty of the timber is on show. Widths usually range from 90mm up to 205mm depending on the individual product. The price of plank engineered and solid wood flooring is determined by the width with price increasing the wider the floor is.
