Tarkett Engineered Flooring

Engineered wood flooring can be a very attractive product that offers all of the beauty of real wood in the same manner as hardwood, while also being easy to install and suitable for nearly every room in the house.

As a manufacturer of such products, Tarkett Flooring can offer you an exciting selection to choose from, with a choice of various oak and walnut floors. Oak, of course, is a beautiful and warm wood, a traditional choice that has been used around the British Isles for many centuries. Walnut offers a modern alternative and is notable for its very distinctive lines and features that make it a particularly attractive wood to look at.

The chance to choose between two types of wood in the Tarkett range is just the beginning of the choice it offers. The products also come in three possible lacquer finishes, these being matt lacquer, satin lacquer and white satin lacquer. The last of these causes wood to adopt a much paler shade than normal, which may make it ideal for those who like a pale look in the room, or to contrast the shade with dark features in the furnishings or on the walls.

As well as different finishes, there are many varieties of shade and tone that can be enjoyed in the Tarkett range, from pale to dark and also a mixture of tones. This is particularly the case where the wood has a large number of markings such as lines, swirls and knots. Three strip flooring can also provide a variety of colours as the different components of each strip offer a variant on their adjacent planks.

The width of the planking varies, with some products 190 mm wide and others 110 mm wide, ensuring both tastes are catered for. Also, there is a choice of edging, which can have a significant visual impact on the whole floor. Some products offer smooth edges, which fit neatly and seamlessly together, providing a smooth, uniform surface right across the floor. Alternatively, there are some with bevelled edges, which means they form dips where the two planks join, making these junctions more pronounced and giving the entire floor surface more profile in a modern and dynamic look.

There are some things that all the Tarkett products have in common. One of these is that all the floors are 8.5 mm wide, while each has a 15-year warranty.

Another element that all the products have in common is that of click system installation. This is one of the simplest systems anybody installing a floor may ever encounter and it does not require any glue or other forms of adhesive. Quite simply, each plank links up to the next one like interlocking pieces in a jigsaw. As a floating floor, it does still need a flooring underlay, but these can be found easily and different sorts are available depending on whether the underfloor is made of concrete or of wood.

But what matters most of all is that each of them is an attractive, high-quality product, offering its own features and attractions and ensuring that whichever Tarkett engineered floor you decide to buy, it will be a beautiful, sturdy and long-lasting one.
