Walnut Laminate Flooring

Vinyl Flooring

Mention walnut to some people and the immediate thought is likely to be about food. But the walnut tree provides a popular wood for flooring and those wanting to enjoy its visual qualities can do so using walnut laminate flooring.

Walnut is a dark wood, but one with rich features and tones, including deep brown swirls, lines and knots to provide a distinctive and attractive surface. There are 17  walnut floors available, of which five are from Pergo, four from Quick Step and two each from Alloc, Loc Floor, Florence and Elka. They are available in different grades, with a choice of smooth or bevelled edges and between 3 strip and 2 strip configurations.

Black Walnut Laminate Flooring

If you are after dark brown walnut floors then the American walnut shade offers a mixture of chocolate brown mixed with the darker markings as the lines and knots characteristic of the wood. Made by Florence, these walnut floors are a smooth-edged, AC4 grade laminate, 8 mm thick, 193 mm wide and comes in board lengths of 1,380 mm.

Walnut Effect Laminate Flooring

The appeal of the walnut effect is essentially in its colour, which is usually reminiscent of a milky cocoa, with darker markings. There are variations on this theme, however, such as the darker Pergo Uniq commercial laminate flooring, Loc Floors very dark 4V and the similarly-shaded Elka 2 strip product. By contrast, Loc Floors own 2 strip walnut flooring is lighter than usual.

V Groove Walnut Laminate Flooring

There are a wide range of V groove walnut floors available, each of which has bevels between the planks that produce a distinct join between them, giving greater definition to the floor in a style that will appeal to many.

Buyers can choose between different shades, with the available products offering a notable contrast between the very dark – such as the Quick Step Linesse Dark Vanished product and Pergos Basic Walnut, which is a milky cocoa shade. The latter product has a lifetime warranty, while the other V groove items have 20-year guarantees. All are made from A4C grade material so they are suitable for domestic and light commercial use.

Planked Walnut Laminate Flooring

Many buyers will opt for planked flooring, which offers flat edges between the planks that fit together with little apparent join, creating a smooth effect that will appeal to many.

There are six walnut floors available, each of which have notable markings as the darker swirls, lines and knots of the wood stand out against a lighter background, although this is less so with the Pergo Unique Commercial product, which may suit those wishing for a slightly more uniform colour.

Florence and Quick Step both offer AC4 grade products with a 20-year warranty, while the other four are tough AC5 grade material, suitable for most commercial use, with lifetime warranties.

Commercial Laminate Flooring

We have two commercial walnut floors in our range, both from Pergo. The Uniq Commercial Laminate is a darker shade with less pronounced markings, while the Commercial Walnut Blocked variety is a lighter tone with distinctive darker markings.

Both are 11 mm thick, with 193 mm plank width and lifetime warranty, and is made from AC5 laminate, the toughest kind and one suited to large commercial premises or public buildings.
