Acquisition expected to strengthen carpet firms
An American flooring company has successfully acquired a carpet manufacturer which is likely to allow the brand to expand its carpet range.
Engineered Floors is a producer of carpet yarn, not engineered wood flooring, and is based in Dalton with premises also in Calhoun.
Although the exact terms of the deal remain confidential between the two parties, no immediate changes are expected to be made in staffing.
Engineered Floors have made Dream Weaver Carpet Industries part of the organisation which will allow the company to produce more residential carpets.
Both companies use similar technologies in carpet production, including the PureColor solution used to create stain-resistant and colourfast yarns.
Dream Weaver Carpets are expected to continue trading under the current name and the acquisition is likely to make little immediate impact on the business.
It is hoped that combining the two companies will allow the manufacturers to combine resources making a stronger team, which will be essential in the difficult American flooring market.
