Bamboo flooring in super sepia
18th November 2010
It is a dark brown shade of the material, reflecting the caramelisation process it has gone through, while the brown is interspersed with long, strandy black lines.
The material is created using the strand weaving method, which breaks the material down into fibres and boils out the sugar, before weaving them together and compressing them into shape with a low-VOC adhesive.
It is finished off with a matt lacquer, creating a gentle, light-reflective sheen.
Each plank is 14 mm thick, 96 mm wide and 1,380 mm in length, with the planks having bevelled edges that give extra depth and definition.
Strand-woven bamboo is harder and twice as dense as normal bamboo and those who would like this sort of floor but with a lighter colour may wish to go for the Solid Strand Woven Natural from the same maker.
Both products come with a warranty lasting 30 years.
