Carpet owners given flood advice
18th November 2010
Insurer NFU Mutual said this is what people have to do if they know a flood is imminent to save their carpets from being ruined by water if they are inundated, as areas of Cornwall battle with burst riverbanks.
After a flood, people were advised they should dispose of any items suspected of having suffered sewage contamination, while photographs must be taken of any damage to help insurance claims.
In the second instance, this may help those with damaged carpets make claims to help them buy new ones.
Those looking for carpets that can be rolled up easily may wish to go for a malleable type, such as those with action backs, which are light and flexible
Such backs are a feature of the Rhapsody range, while UK Flooring Direct's own brand products have felt backs, which are also light and malleable.
