Carpet proves stain resistant credentials
A stunt to publicise the stain resistant qualities of an innovative carpet has got people talking about the importance of carpet maintenance and cleaning.
The advance in carpet care technology was demonstrated during a town parade in Illinois when the town was carpeted with the new style of carpet.
Throughout the parade the carpet endured high levels of foot traffic as well as large vehicles driving over it.
A number of animals were also involved in the day and many bystanders could have been forgiven for doubting the carpet once it was covered in waste from farm animals.
The carpet is a Mohawk product and it has an advanced stain-resistant formula built in to the fibres, which makes it less likely to be damaged to begin with.
It also makes regular cleaning and occasional thorough cleaning much more effective, with the added benefit that the formula will not become less effective through washing or regular use.
The idea came from a local carpet store, Wyanet Carpet, and their employees got to work cleaning the carpet in front of spectators from the parade.
Cleaning proved so successful that the carpet has been installed in the carpet showroom to prove that the carpets really are as stain resistant as Mohawk claim.
