Good news for US flooring sales
The US flooring industry has seen positive signs of growth in past few months as consumers start to focus on home improvements.
Lumber Liquidators reported that profit more than doubled, and revenue rose by almost 20%, to beat all expectations.
The uplift is thought to be a direct result of spring renovations which have been taking place as homeowners focused on transforming interiors.
The positive news meant a rise in share prices for the company, which focuses on value for customers, and there are now plans to open a number of new stores.
Such positive news seems a long way from the largely negative reports of recent years as many flooring retailers struggled through the recession.
Hopefully this news heralds the start of a new era within the flooring industry as consumers start considering home improvements again.
