Laminate flooring 'is a great, cheap alternative' to hardwood

Designer Brian Patrick Flynn told the Canadian Press that the option is suitable for those who want to replicate the look of a wood floor, but do not have the budget to accommodate it.
He explained that tongue and groove 'quick click' systems can be cut to size using a table saw and an entire kitchen can be completed within three hours.
"You simply put down foam underlay over your existing floor, as long as it is level, and then lay down each piece and stagger the lines," Mr Flynn was quoted as saying.
However, those who have the time and money available were advised to opt for hardwood flooring, as fellow designer Janine Carendi stated that the "warmth and texture" it offers cannot be replicated.
The Nashua Telegraph recently observed that a range of environmentally-friendly hardwood flooring is now available.
