Mixed fortunes for flooring firm
There has been mixed news for one of the UK’s high street flooring retailers in the first half of this year.
Topps Tiles is based in Leicester and sells tiles and wood flooring to trade and public customers from over 300 stores across the country.
The flooring retailer has seen profits drop below the companies expected profit figure and there is fresh worry about new competitors with other stores starting tile ranges.
Fortunately it is not all bad news as sales have risen during April as the bad weather influenced consumers.
There is also fresh hope for the company as the Leicestershire base has expanded and the firm still hope to increase the number of stores.
Like many other industries the flooring sector has suffered considerably through the recession, and high street stores across the market have suffered from an increase in online purchases.
