More success for UK flooring sector

Negative news in the flooring sector has been very prevalent recently so it is a relief to see more positive stories of flooring success.

UK Flooring Direct achieved a well-earned place in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 for the second year running and now a commercial flooring firm is expected to announce record-breaking profits.

James Halstead, the commercial flooring specialist, increased sales in the UK by 4% in the first half of the year, which should lead to a record high in revenue for the family company.

Retailers are facing a difficult time as the economy is in the midst of a particularly difficult period, yet these firms prove that there are still flooring success stories out there.

Unfortunately the company chairman, Geoff Halstead, had to warn of the dangers to the current economy because of the Euro crisis as well as the specific challenges faced by the flooring sector.

This includes the price of raw material which has already caused problems with many firms having to push prices up

Customer uncertainty is also having a noticeable impact as buyers put off major purchases due to fear of the dire financial situation.
