Recognition for eco friendly flooring accessories
An Australian flooring firm has been rewarded for commitment to producing environmentally friendly flooring products with national recognition.
A prestigious Australian Business Award was given to Dunlop Flooring for one of the innovative carpet underlays designed and produced by the company.
Dunlop flooring’s ‘Springtread’ carpet underlay received the award for Best Eco-Friendly Product for 2011 beating of strong competition from various industries throughout the private, public and non-profit sectors.
The award is given to products which display ‘innovation and commitment to sustainable living’ and the carpet underlay was chosen as the best example of this.
Sustainable flooring is an important part of the flooring industry as more and more consumers opt to install flooring which will not be detrimental to the environment.
The award for this flooring underlay will also bring attention to the importance of environmentally friendly flooring accessories.
‘Springtread’ is widely accepted as the first carpet underlay which is entirely recyclable once it is no longer used.
The Australian Business Awards have been running for the past six years and offer recognition on a national level across a range of industries.
