Rugs 'a great way to keep kitchen clean'
28th June 2010
Flooring writer Brian Nic said the cost often meant that people leave kitchens to the end when carrying out makeovers in their homes, but he suggested that area rugs were an inexpensive way of improving such rooms.
Being moveable, area rugs can be taken away and cleaned in a way that a carpet laid in the kitchen would not be, meaning that it can be placed in locations where people stand a lot to give them more comfort underfoot.
He stated: "Area rugs ?r? another gr??t way t? preserve th? flooring underneath fr?m scratches, stains ?nd, ?f course, wear ?nd tear th?t comes along w?th th? territory."
Rugs that may not be so popular just now have been on display in a shop in Hove.
Jay Singleton of the Rug World outlet in the city told the Brighton Argus last week that St George's Cross rugs had been selling well.
However, these comments came before England's 4-1 defeat to Germany, which may have dented sales of the products.
