Solid wood replacing carpets
Statistics are indicating that more and more people are replacing carpets with solid wood floors.
Despite the greater expense involved and the current difficult financial climate, old, worn carpets are being replaced by new hardwood floors.
Although the trend was not expected within the industry, many experts say that it isn’t actually surprising.
Consumers may be looking to cut costs as far as possible but industry insiders consider solid wood flooring to be a true investment with a long life, which means the investment will pay off over time.
The new trend suggests that, although consumers want bargains and cheaper products, they are not willing to compromise on quality and would rather choose a more expensive option which will last for longer.
Carpet is not as durable or hardwearing as solid wood flooring is so it will get worn faster and more easily, needing to be replaced much more frequently than hardwood floors do.
Solid wood floors are very much in fashion within interior design circles and as it fits with any décor it will last through different design schemes as well.
