Sustainable flooring on green Christmas list
Those keen on having an eco-friendly festive period have been using sustainable flooring to improve their lifestyles and businesses, it has been revealed.

In a feature on moves made by locals to be greener at this time of year, the Baltimore Sun noted that store owner David Buscher has used sustainable bamboo flooring in his store, known as the bluehouse.

This shop is full of eco-features, such as fairy lights using energy-saving LEDs, bottle openers made from recycled bicycle parts and ornaments made out of oxygen tanks recovered from Everest as part of moves to clean up the mountain.

Shoppers who also told the paper they are keen to be environmentally friendly at Christmas and other times include Dave Eske, who said he plans to install recycled cork flooring in his home.

Cork flooring has also been installed in the home of boss of green products maker Serious Materials Marc Porat, Palo Alto Online reported recently.

He explained to the news provider that this was part of a bid to turn his 1930s house into an eco-home.
