18th November 2010
It is a rustic floor with a wide range of features, including lines, rings, knots, variations in shade, character marks and sapwood.
The appearance is also enhanced by the bevelled edges on each plank, giving them greater depth and definition, while the oil is designed to give the floor extra protection and a warm feel.
It is made from 11 layers of birch plywood, topped with a 4 mm oak hardwood layer, which can be sanded up to six times, but with good care and maintenance it may last as long as 20 years without this being required.
The planks are 189 mm wide and 18 mm thick, while the product comes with a 30-year warranty.
Florence offers engineered oak flooring in different grades of wood, examples of this include the Engineered Euro Select Oak, which has planks of wood showing very few markings of any kind.
