Toronto next on cork flooring tour
Cork flooring has had its virtues displayed as a roadshow heading across North America rolled into Toronto.

Portuguese cork association Apcor has been running the display in recent weeks in various US and Canadian cities and it has made its latest stop in the Ontarian state capital.

The show has been designed by Candice Olson and named the Decor(k) tour, with the company stating cork can be the "ultimate eco-chic", with its renewable and sustainable source.

One aspect noted is the way cork's comfort enables it to suit "on-the-floor living", the firm said, commenting this can include everything from children playing on it and girls' nights in to yoga sessions and romantic fireside evenings.

It also mentioned the comfort involved in walking on a cork floor because of its soft and springy nature.

This last aspect is a reason for the material becoming more popular, the Edmonton Journal recently reported.

Floor expert Kristin Krokys described cork as "warm, soft to walk on and durable."
