Agreement pushes construction project forward

A construction project that will see 820 new homes being built in Warwickshire is a step nearer fruition after the local authority signed an agreement with builders Barratt Developments.

The Bluebell development in Camp Hill gained the green light from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council this week and the new homes will be built over the next 10-12 years, the Homes and Communities Agency has revealed.

As well as the housing, there will be a high street and green open spaces.

The opening phase will see one and two-bedroom coach houses being built, along with three and four-bedroom homes.

''Securing the development agreement is a huge milestone for the project", said Pride in Camp Hill project manager Chris Egan.

The agreement to build the new homes is one of several projects taking place across the West Midlands region.

Earlier this month housing minister Ian Austin said he was delighted with the fact that 1,000 of the 2,400 homes being built with money from the government's Kickstart programme - which is aimed at reviving stalled building projects - will be in that part of the country.
