Blue carpet to be centrepiece of charity event

The Howardthedrunk.com blog site noted that the 2010 Mardi Gras Ball Blue Carpet Event on February 22nd will feature Orlando Magic's Matt Barnes, as part of the Matt Barnes Foundation's bid to boost the Florida Hospital for Children Cancer Institute.
Available via the Athletes V Cancer website, tickets for the event will enable people to meet Barnes and other members of the Orlando Magic basketball team.
The blog noted that the cause is close to Matt Barnes, as his mother died from cancer.
Other recent instances of famous people lining up on a blue carpet included the premieres of the film Avatar, with the colour of the surface emulating the skin of the aliens on the moon Pandora in the film.
