Bringing flooring to life
Milan Design Week will see the introduction of an interactive experience entitled “The Positive Floor” and created by InterfaceFLOR.
The concept is designed to demonstrate the latest designs and innovations within the carpet and flooring sphere as well as providing an unusual experience for visitors, allowing important flooring issues to be brought to life.
Michele Lacovitti, marketing and branding director at InterfaceFLOR, said: “The installation aims to take people’s perception of flooring and turn it on its head.
“We have created a physical journey in to the surreal where what should be under our feet , the floor, exists high up in another reality.”
“The Positive Floor” is a maze which brings up displays of carpets within a large white space. This also means that the outside influences which can detract from flooring, are eliminated.
The displays of InterfaceFLOR carpet tiles are displayed to reflect an important current issue in the flooring world; environmental issues and InterfaceFLOR’s commitment to sustainable flooring.
Each of the flooring options is reflected in the mirrored ceiling and they work as a guide to the visitor’s position within the maze.
Milan design Week is held between the 12th and the 17th of april where “The Positive Floor” will be displayed.
