Carpet firm saved
23rd July 2010
Renewal Carpet Tiles, which occupies part of the same building in Blackburn, has agreed terms with administrators RSM Tenon for a takeover, which saves the jobs of all the company's employees, the Business Desk reports.
Joint administrator Chris Ratten remarked that the outcome was the "best deal for all parties concerned".
"It is a positive result for the company's suppliers, while the protection of 120 jobs is a fantastic boost to the community in and around Mill Hill."
Founded in 1979, the company produces six million sq m of carpet a year from its plant in the town.
Earlier this week, another Lancashire carpet firm announced relocation plans.
Bacup-based Drury Adams, which like Duttons was founded in 1979, revealed it has applied to Rossendale Borough Council for permission to move to a new, larger site by the River Ribble.
The blueprint would include an expansion of production and the creation of 12 new jobs.
