Carpet maker in 'low carbon' claim
25th May 2010
South Yorkshire-based Paragon Carpets said its approach to making carpet tiles is to "produce them in-house in the lowest carbon producing tile factory in Europe".
It added that its green values include "delivering not only environmentally-friendly products, but ensuring throughout our manufacturing chain we act to protect the environment".
The firm has also stated that its carpet tiles have the advantage of being static-free, with tests being carried out on the products to ensure they can be used safely in close proximity to electrical appliances such as computers.
Paragon is part of the National Floorcoverings Group, which was founded in the Yorkshire town of Heckmondwyke in 1873.
As well as Paragon Carpets, the group includes wooden floor suppliers Granwood and other firms that make and supply commercial flooring, including a total of four carpet making companies.
