Carpet museum happy with public support
The creators of a new carpet museum in Kidderminster have thanked the local public for their support for the project, following a consultation on its development.

Among the issues on which the Carpet Museum Trust has been inviting the public to have its say on is the logo that the centre will have, the Kidderminster Shuttle reports.

Trustee and secretary of the Trust Charles Talbot told the paper: "The feedback was extremely positive and the survey team was overwhelmed by the public's interest in the history of Kidderminster and its carpet legacy."

The new museum - the creation of which is being funded by £1.7 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund - will be housed in the Stourvale Mill, a Grade II listed building.

Kidderminster has a long carpet-making tradition that persists to this day, with firms operating in the town now including Victoria Carpets.

Earlier this month, the company revealed that it turned in a pre-tax profit of £200,000 in the half year to October 3rd.
