Cheap flooring may need vinyl tile solution
23rd March 2010
James Pugh, associate director at Worcester-based DJD Architects, said the last 18 months have been a difficult time for the industry as the recession has caused many people to hold back from making home improvements, but now customers are coming back.
Describing how people are approaching home improvements, he said: "There is a recognition of value against cost, so it might be that someone spends more but actually what they achieve is something a little bit better."
Low cost Vinyl tile flooring may provide such a solution.
The renovation industry has been calling for the government to cut VAT on home improvements to a rate of five per cent in order to boost the sector and help people make their homes greener.
On March 22nd the British Property Federation revealed it had become the 22nd member of the Cut the VAT coalition.
