Contrasting flooring fashion
One unexpected flooring trend which has come to light recently is the fashion for contrasting interiors making its mark on the flooring world.
Walking in to a room with a statement décor, for instance dark solid wood flooring teamed with a very minimalistic, neutral colour scheme will make a real impression.
The contrasting shades make rooms look bright and add a contemporary appeal while allowing the individual to choose a focal point for the room.
Another exciting way of trying out the trend is to team light solid wood floors with darker walls, possibly in shades of brown, slate grey or even deep navy or rich scarlet.
Although trends like this can be transient, this needn’t cause a problem when choosing floors to go with this design scheme.
Fortunately, investing in beautiful solid wood flooring will not be a waste even if the current fashion begins to look dated in a few years’ time.
Dark solid wood flooring and light solid wood floors are both timeless options, whatever décor they are used with.
A change of colour for the walls will alter any room to fit in with the flooring economically and means that your investment will outlive any trends, as classic solid wood flooring is designed to.
