Those fitting cork bathroom flooring are making a very eco-friendly choice when they do so, it has been noted.
A feature in the Montreal Gazette on green flooring noted that cork has a wide range of properties as well as being green due to the fact that it is harmlessly harvested from tree bark.
These include its insulating properties, sound-proofing, softness underfoot and consequent benefits for joints elsewhere in the body, warmth and anti-fungal qualities.
Designer Adrian Shewchuk stated that the material can also come in a wide range of designs and looks, commenting: "We see some clients get very creative with our coloured cork tiles and use colour inlays, stripes or borders."
Last week, Triple Pundit commentator Leon Kaye noted that cork flooring has been a good addition to his home and he stated that this is one of the best uses the material can be put to at a time when its use as a wine bottle stopper is in decline.
