Cork flooring a feature of recommended eatery

Cork flooring is one of the major features of a restaurant in the US state of Michigan.

According to the Metro Times, Mind Body & Spirits - located in Rochester on the outskirts of Detroit - boasts a number of environmentally-friendly credentials.

The venue was recently remodelled and in addition to cork flooring boasts solar panels on the roof and a bar top constructed from reclaimed wood.

Food at the establishment came highly recommended, with the news source explaining that efforts have been made to build relationships with local farmers and ensure a supply of seasonal produce.

Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options are all available, while the way in which dishes have been created allows for "simple removal of any items that might be objectionable to the food-conscious or food-sensitive diner".

Cork flooring was recently highlighted as an eco-friendly choice by Francis Velazquez of the York County Department of Parks and Recreation, who told the York Daily Record that the material is also hard-wearing.
