Cork flooring is one of the best materials for a home makeover because it is both eco-friendly and infection resistant, an expert has said.
Women24's DIY and decor expert Janice Anderssen explained that there are many ways a house can be made to look better, especially for those who are not going away over the US Christmas holiday season.
She suggested that cork or bamboo are not just renewable but also offer "sensible style".
Ms Anderssen added: "These new flooring options are also anti-allergic and provide more comfort and a wide range of style options for even the most discerning homeowner."
Such advice came alongside suggestions that householders install green items such as energy saving lightbulbs, insulation and grey water recycling facilities.
One revamp that has seen cork flooring installed is the Saffron restaurant in Santa Rosa, California.
