Cork flooring part of green church plan

Unity of Savannah recently carried out an energy audit and subsequently undertook a range of measures to make their building and activities more eco-friendly, Savannah Now reports.
As well as the new flooring, the church is using renewable coffee cups, an energy efficient water heater and low voltage lighting, with an emphasis on encouraging its members to be greener themselves.
Minister at the church Reverend Arlene Meyer told the news provider: "This fits in with our theology. We believe that we are co-creators with God of our world and as such are responsible for our lives and our planet."
Last week, cork was hailed as one of the best materials for creating a green home by eco-realtor Kimberly Martin, who specialises in the green homes sector.
In an interview with the Saratogian, she said such floors have become among the most popular sustainable materials for domestic flooring use.
