Cushion 'can significantly extend carpet life'

Australian carpet cushion manufacturer Dunlop Flooring has highlighted the advantages of its products.

The company noted that its residential Springtred range can extend the life cycle of a carpet by as much as 50 per cent.

It is available in three grades, with the Ultimate version said to offer "luxurious comfort and outstanding support".

Dunlop Flooring explained that a carpet's performance can in large part be affected by the choice of cushion and it is therefore an important consideration.

The Springtred range, it added, is "formulated to make carpet feel richer, thicker, softer and more luxurious".

Made from polyurethane foam, the cushion is fully recyclable and is described as providing excellent sound and heat insulation.

Earlier this month, president of carpet manufacturer Glen Eden Stewart Hay suggested that interest in wool carpets is set to grow.

He explained that people are increasingly looking for sustainable flooring and carpets and the material is rising in popularity as a result.
