Those looking for floating cork flooring could literally be in their element with the Basics Floating Floor Element Rustic from Florence.

The product has a very distinct appearance, differing from the standard, natural grainy look of cork and instead offering a patchwork quilt effect of differing shades of material in squares and rectangles of differing sizes, with various speckled markings across the floor in places.

Coming with a 20-year warranty, the product has a smooth, lacquered surface and each plank is 10 mm thick and? 300 mm wide and has a standard length of 910 mm, while the cork layer on top is itself 2.5 mm thick.

This sits on an HDF core board designed to produce greater stability and the satin lacquer gives the floor a gentle, light-reflective sheen.

Other products in the Florence range include the Cork Basics Floating Floor Classic, which comes in a more traditional-looking golden brown grainy style.
