Having heated engineered flooring is not as expensive as it sounds, an expert has remarked.
President of underfloor heating company ThermoSoft International Eric Kochman said more modern systems cost much less than traditional ones, the Daily Herald reports.
He noted that while older systems used hot water pipes, thermal fibres are the method ThermoSoft uses to deliver heat to floors.
These can be used for engineered flooring or laminate flooring, Mr Koch observed.
Discussing the cost of such devices, he stated: "Our technology is so versatile that we can now make all of these things at an affordable price," noting that these can be fitted for around $200 (£125).
Mr Kochman also suggested that underfloor heating is better because heat rises and thus it starts at the bottom of the room and warms the whole of it.
Those who install laminate flooring should put a sub-floor under it to protect against moisture and excess sound, the Courier Press recently advised readers.
