Engineered wood flooring a key feature of penthouse

A pair of luxury seaside homes in a part of Cornwall famous for its surfing beaches has engineered wood flooring as a major part of its makeup, it has been noted.

In a feature on the penthouses overlooking Fistral Beach, Country Life revealed that the floors are present in the entrance, reception hall, dining rooms, living rooms, boiler room and bedrooms.

These have thermostatic-controlled underfloor heating, enabling those enjoying the floor surfaces to also experience warm temperatures in the colder months.

Country Life described the flats as "stunning", both for their internal qualities and the views they offer.

The use of wood to produce impressive interiors was noted recently by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Following the restoration of the Bagshawe Museum in the West Yorkshire town of Batley, curator Ruth McDonald said the freshly-polished parquet floors look "absolutely stunning".

One room in the house was only recently discovered to have parquet flooring, the paper noted.
