Those looking for flooring adhesives may find the ideal product from Mapei, which produces the P990 Adhesive sausage.
An elongated silver-coloured device, the product is designed to bind floors to both concrete and wood subfloors, using a strong polyurethane adhesive.
It works by firing 6 mm beads of adhesive - sometimes known as liquid battens - onto the subfloor, which should be spaced out at 150 mm intervals.
Weighing 1 kg, the product covers 1.5 sq m and the adhesive beads can be easily fired with an installation gun.
It is designed for floors with full stick-down installation, where those products do not already have a peel-and-stick adhesive attachment on the back.
Those using the sausage should get it along with mapei's sausage gun, which bears a vague resemblance to a syringe but uses its nozzle to direct the adhesive beads accurately onto the spots on the floor where they need to go.
