Flooring firm offers help to victims of Hurricane Irene
Images of the devastation caused by Hurricane Irene shocked the world only last month but for residents in the Caribbean, America and Canada lives will take a long time to be rebuilt.
The tail end of the hurricane even made its presence felt in the UK with high winds across the country causing a tiny fraction of the damage caused across the Atlantic.
Over fifty people were killed in the tragedy and homes and businesses were destroyed. The support needed for the victims will be huge.
This is why one American flooring company has pledged their help to many of the victims of the tragedy, in order to get lives back on track, starting with their floors.
Mohawk, the flooring company, will be helping to repair homes and rebuild communities by providing flooring for hard-hit areas.
The company supply carpet, laminate, hardwood and ceramic tiles as well as accessories such as rugs and bathmats.
As one of the world’s largest flooring manufacturers and distributors the company is in the unique position of being able to offer help and hope to those with badly damaged homes.
It is not unheard of for flooring companies to offer assistance to victims of such atrocities and the floor coverings which are donated may seem like a small gesture but it is the first step to rebuilding homes and lives.
