Hardwood flooring is a great choice for families with young children, it has been advised.
Flooring expert Ron Williams told Hometownlife.com that such floors are "totally bullet-proof" when it comes to resisting stains, making them ideal for households where many spillages will occur.
He added: "Many hardwoods have finishes that last 15-20 years. California Berbers last for a long time because they never crush or mat as opposed to a standard plush."
Carpet expert Debbie Reynolds told the news provider that the material is also good for those who like to make a lot of changes to their homes, such as putting down different kinds of rugs for each season.
Another recent advocate of hardwood flooring to praise the material was Designer [LC] Janine Carendi advised readers of the Miami Herald that the "warmth and texture" of a wood floor could not be beaten.
Her colleague Mallory Mathison suggested that those with a wood floor could make it look "amazing" by adding a coat of black gloss paint.
