The Restoration on King is located in the city's main shopping district and had started out as a condominium development, but is now getting a second chance as a boutique hotel, the State reports.
Due to open on March 1st, it has 16 one and two-bedroom suites, with hardwood floors and exposed brick juxtaposed with brown and baby blue fabrics.
The rooms at the new hotel vary in size between 579 sq ft and 1,300 sq ft.
Senior vice-president of Charlestowne Hotels Michael Tall said: "This is where modern and Charleston meet."
