Home improvement service Ratedpeople.com said that the material, while initially more expensive to lay down, comes with a number of cost saving benefit to offset this, such as good insulation qualities.
"Hardwoods will retain their heat as well as carpet or laminate, but will remain warmer because of small air pockets within the wood itself," the firm said, adding that it is more resistant to germs and allergy-causing bugs.
Director of sales and marketing at the company Ottokar Rosenberger remarked that as well as this, the addition of such flooring offers a "long-term benefit to saleability and value".
The actual installation of hardwood flooring is not expensive, it was recently stated.
According to the US National Wood Flooring Association, not only is it an inexpensive item to put in place, but it is also eco-friendly as it comes from a sustainable and organic source.
